The client’s front garden was difficult to maintain and offered no practical space for parking. The goal was to create a modern, low-maintenance driveway that would not only provide parking for multiple vehicles but also significantly enhance the property’s curb appeal with a unique and stylish design.

- Before: The front of the house was an untidy and impractical garden space, offering no off-road parking.
- After: The area has been reborn as a large, sophisticated block paved driveway. It provides ample parking and features a beautiful, custom-designed pattern, new drainage, and smart raised planters, dramatically improving the home’s functionality and appearance.
Project Steps
A complete transformation was required to achieve the client’s vision. Our process included:
- Site Clearance & Excavation: The project began with the complete removal of the old garden, including turf, soil, and debris. The area was then fully excavated to the correct depth to create a solid foundation.
- Sub-base & Drainage: We installed a heavy-duty sub-base and compacted it to ensure a stable and durable platform for the new driveway. A new linear drainage channel was also integrated to manage surface water effectively.
- Raised Sleeper Beds: To create a clean border and retain a neat garden area, we constructed new raised beds using solid wooden sleepers.
- Block Paving Installation: The main driveway was laid using high-quality charcoal block paving. A contrasting buff-coloured block was used for the border and to create a stunning, bespoke geometric pattern in the centre of the driveway, adding a unique design feature.
Conclusion
The finished driveway is a complete success, providing the household with a practical, spacious, and visually impressive entrance to their home. The combination of the charcoal and buff blocks creates a modern look, while the custom pattern adds a touch of elegance. The new driveway has completely transformed the front of the property.
