The aim was to remove the tired, outdated patio and uneven lawn area and replace it with a modern, low maintenance patio area using beautiful Indian sandstone. Project Steps
- Site Clearance & Removal
- We began the project by carefully lifting and removing the existing concrete slabs and digging out the old lawn. This cleared the way for us to start fresh and allowed us to tackle the existing drainage issues the client had been facing.
- Groundworks & Preparation
- Once the area was fully cleared, we excavated the ground to the correct levels, ensuring a solid starting point. We then installed a heavy-duty geotextile membrane across the area, this is an essential layer that prevents weed growth and improves drainage. Following this, we laid and compacted a quality hardcore base, providing a strong and stable foundation ready for the new patio installation.
- Patio Installation
- With the groundwork complete, we moved on to laying the new Indian sandstone patio. The client selected a beautiful blend of mixed sized slabs in a Raj Green colour to create a natural and eye-catching finish. To help control surface water, we also fitted acro channel drains around the patio, ensuring any rainfall is safely and effectively drained away from the property.
- Final Touches & Clean Up
- Installed a neat border around the patio for a sharp, professional look.
- Pointing all joints with a durable resin jointing compound.
- Giving the entire area a thorough clean and jet wash to leave the patio looking its best.
