The large front driveway consisted of old, worn concrete slabs, and the rear patio was uneven and uninviting. The client wanted to create a cohesive, high-quality finish across the entire property, incorporating a stylish new driveway, a practical and attractive patio area, and new garden features like retaining walls and steps.

Project Steps
This was a major renovation that required a full-scale approach to transform the grounds:
- Complete Excavation: The first step was a massive site clearance. We removed the entire front driveway, the old rear patio, and several overgrown garden sections, excavating everything to the necessary depth.
- New Foundations & Retaining Walls: With a blank canvas, we installed robust new sub-bases across all areas. At the rear of the property, we constructed a substantial new retaining wall using heavy-duty wooden sleepers to create a defined, level patio area.
- Driveway Installation: For the main driveway, the client chose a sophisticated ‘Granite Medona’ block paving. This was laid in a multi-size pattern to create visual interest and was framed with a double border in a contrasting charcoal colour for a sharp, defined look.
- Patio & Pathway Paving: To complement the driveway, a beautiful, light-coloured Indian Sandstone was used for the new rear patio, the steps, and the elegant curved pathway leading to the front door. New steps were also constructed from wooden sleepers to provide access from the new patio to the garden.
- Finishing Touches: The project was completed by re-edging the lawn to create a neat, curved border that softens the lines of the new paving.
Conclusion
The property has been completely transformed. The new ‘Granite Medona’ block paved driveway is modern and spacious, providing fantastic curb appeal. The rear Indian Sandstone patio is now a beautiful and highly functional outdoor living space, perfect for relaxing or entertaining.
