We recently completed a modern garden transformation in Haslingden, installing a sleek Kandla Grey Indian Sandstone patio to create a clean and functional outdoor seating area directly off the property.
The customer wanted a practical, low-maintenance space for relaxing and entertaining, replacing a plain lawn area with something more usable all year round.

As shown in the images, the garden originally consisted of:
A basic lawn with no defined patio or seating area
Limited usable outdoor space directly outside the rear doors
No clear structure or flow from the house into the garden
While the garden was tidy, it lacked a dedicated space for outdoor living.

The addition of the dark block edging creates a striking contrast, helping define the space and elevate the overall finish.
Our Process
1. Ground Preparation & Excavation
We marked out the new patio area and excavated the ground to the required depth, removing turf and soil to prepare for a solid foundation.
2. Sub-Base Installation
A strong sub-base of MOT Type 1 was installed and compacted thoroughly to ensure long-term durability and prevent movement.
3. Drainage & Edging
We installed a linear drainage system along the property to manage surface water effectively, along with a contrasting block border to frame the patio and give it a sharp, modern finish.
4. Laying the Kandla Grey Sandstone
The Kandla Grey Indian Sandstone slabs were laid in a mixed-size pattern, creating a contemporary and uniform look. The subtle grey tones provide a clean, modern appearance that complements the brickwork perfectly.
5. Jointing & Finishing
The patio was finished with a durable jointing compound, ensuring a strong, weed-resistant finish built to last.
