Before and After

Before

The area beside the property consisted of uneven ground, grass and exposed soil, limiting the amount of practical parking space available. The surface required extensive excavation, levelling and preparation before the new driveway could be installed.

After

The space has been transformed into a large, attractive block paved driveway featuring warm multi-toned paving, contrasting charcoal borders and decorative dividing bands. The finished surface provides generous off-road parking, improved drainage and a smart appearance that complements the property’s traditional stone exterior.

Preparing the Driveway

The existing grass, soil and unsuitable surface materials were excavated and removed using specialist machinery. The area was then carefully levelled and prepared with a strong sub-base to provide the stability and support required for a long-lasting driveway.

Correct ground preparation was particularly important due to the size of the area. We also created suitable levels and installed drainage channels to help direct surface water away from the driveway and surrounding property.

Installing the Block Paving

The driveway was finished using warm, multi-toned block paving featuring an attractive blend of red, brown and golden shades. This complements the traditional stone exterior of the house and helps the new driveway sit naturally within its leafy surroundings.

Contrasting charcoal blocks were used around the perimeter and as dividing bands across the driveway. These darker details define the shape of the installation, provide a smart decorative finish and break up the larger paved area.

Once laid, the paving was carefully compacted and finished with kiln-dried jointing sand to create a secure, even surface.

The Finished Driveway

The completed driveway has completely transformed the space around the property. What was previously an uneven and partially landscaped area is now a spacious, hard-wearing surface offering excellent access and generous off-road parking.

The combination of autumn-toned paving, charcoal borders and neatly formed curves creates a high-quality finish that is both practical and visually appealing.
