We recently completed a full driveway transformation in Bury, replacing an old, worn block paved surface with a clean, modern tarmac driveway finished with decorative block paving borders.
The existing driveway had become tired and uneven over time, and the customer wanted a more durable, low-maintenance solution while still keeping a smart, detailed finish around the edges.

The Before
The original driveway was an ageing block paved surface that had:
- Become uneven in areas
- Lost its colour and overall appearance

This made it the perfect candidate for a full upgrade.
Our Process
1. Full Excavation & Removal
We removed the existing driveway and excavated the area to the required depth, preparing for a new, solid foundation.
2. Sub-Base Installation
A strong MOT Type 1 sub-base was installed and compacted to create a durable base capable of supporting vehicles long-term.
3. Edging & Block Paving Installation
We installed new block paved borders around the perimeter, including a decorative front entrance feature and step detail, adding contrast and structure to the design.
4. Drainage Considerations
Proper levels and falls were created to ensure effective water runoff and prevent pooling.
5. Tarmac Installation
High-quality tarmac was laid and compacted across the main driveway area, creating a smooth, clean and hard-wearing surface.
6. Finishing Touches
Final detailing, including edging alignment and clean-up, ensured a sharp and professional finish throughout.
