Project Overview
We recently completed this beautiful garden transformation in Skipton, creating a stunning new Indian Sandstone patio and pathway system that has completely revitalised the outdoor space.
The project involved the removal of existing pathways, steps and hard landscaping before carrying out extensive groundwork preparations. Our team constructed new retaining walls, rebuilt access steps and created a much more practical layout that makes better use of the garden’s different levels.

The garden featured ageing pathways, tired access steps and limited patio space. The existing layout felt disconnected and did not make the most of the property’s attractive garden setting. Access between different levels was less inviting, and the overall appearance lacked the character and elegance of natural stone.
After
The garden has been completely transformed with a beautifully laid Indian Sandstone patio and pathway system. New retaining walls and steps provide improved access throughout the garden, while the warm natural stone colours create a premium finish that perfectly complements the property. The larger patio area now provides an ideal space for relaxing and entertaining, whilst the new pathway creates an impressive entrance to the home.
The Meadow Drives Method
For the patio surface, the customer selected a beautiful mixed-tone Indian Sandstone, featuring a blend of warm buff, golden and natural stone colours that perfectly complement the property’s traditional stone exterior. The natural variations within the sandstone create a timeless appearance while adding character and interest throughout the garden.
A large patio area was installed directly outside the property, providing ample space for outdoor seating and entertaining. We also created a matching sandstone pathway leading from the entrance gate up to the house, improving accessibility while creating an attractive first impression.
The completed project combines practical functionality with outstanding visual appeal, delivering a high-quality outdoor living space that blends seamlessly into the surrounding garden and existing stonework.
